During my studies, the University of Ostrava established cooperation with Dublin City University in Ireland within the framework of the Socrates-Erasmus exchange program. It was an opportunity not to be missed. Together with my colleague and friend Tomasz we went through the selection process and in January 2007 we flew to Ireland for one semester to study “Business Informatics”. The courses were very interesting, although quite far from our usual courses and specialization. Nothing to complain about, it gave us a healthy perspective on other sides of computer science that we were less exposed to at my home university. When I was tired of studying, I would go to my favorite hideaway in the university park (oh, the luxury of having a park on campus!) with a good book, go to Our Lady of Victories church just behind the university, or take a trip to Dublin city center. It is a short walk from DCU and Dublin is a really nice city to visit.
